ErstWhile Manor OOC Wrap

The Heroes explored a site found by their scouts, an ancient manor house and collapsed barn. Within, they found a small hive of Stag beetles and a groups of subgoblins led by Griznak. Eriador used his magic to comunicate and found the goblins to be friendly. Griznak asked them to clear the cellar of large slimies, and a group of ancient giant slugs nearly killed them. Barely holding onto their lives, and badly burned by the slug’s acid, the party crawled from the slimepit of a cellar and was healed by the subgoblins, who happy with the offer to trade bidden meat allowed them to search the manor house. Much of the house was in disrepair though fragments of books and a few spell scrolls and alchemical recipes were found throughout. Of note, one room is time locked and sealed well enough the PC’s doubt they can even crack the enchantment. And there is a magical library in a secret attic.

Ancient Root Cellar OOC Wrap up

After while the peasants began construction of the great hall, others began to plow the fields and sow our crops (Still need to know what you decided as far as wheat vs vegies). Captain Waylan reported the farmers had found something strange in one of the fields. On investigation we discovered an old root cellar, within were several giant spiders, a skeleton still guarding a locked chest and a giant slug. The slug seems to be domesticated and our geomancer comunincated with it briefly discovering that in fact it had been fed by whatever farmers once lived here. A journal found in the chest indicated a number of historical wars between races, many of which we have as of yet, not encountered.

Summoned by the King

For many years the Kingdom has known peace. The ancient civilizations of the Elves and Dwarves held at bay by the great wall. In recent decades rumors say they have in fact withdrawn into their mountains and forests, perhaps even left the world of man entirely. As has been the occasion many a night before, you sit before the fire place sharing tales of the ancient wars and heroics of man’s greatest heroes. A great banging at the door tears you from the revelry, and as you hurry to see who it might be you are confronted by an almost laudable sight. A kings messenger decked out in royal finery is being admitted by the servants. Soaked to the bone, velvet damp and dull, ruffles about his sleeves matted and dripping, he draws out a scroll case, produces a sealed scroll from it and thrusts it at you. Then almost before you can receive it he twirls about, out the door and is riding away.

The scroll is a summons to the King’s court. You and three others are to lead an expedition to colonize the other side of the wall. A new and harder life awaits.
